 | Life at ASH Community Activities & Events Community Activities and Events Dogs on beach during summer 2010 5/24/2010
From now until 1 October dogs are permitted at only a few spots on The Hague and Wassenaar beaches. In order to give dog owners the chance to enjoy the beach with their dogs during the summer months, several sections of the beach have been designated a free-run area. The so-called ‘dog beaches’ can be found between beach access 2 (by the entrance to Kijkduinpark/end of the Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan parking area), the border with the Municipality of Westland between beach access 9 (Kwartellaan) and 10 (Duivelandsestraat), and between the beach access at the end of the Zwarte Pad and the border with the Municipality of Wassenaar. There are signs indicating the sections of the beach where dogs are welcome. Dogs are prohibited from other parts of The Hague’s beaches in the summer months to eliminate any nuisance for seaside visitors. Signs indicate this ban on dogs and the ban is in effect 24 hours a day including during the night. Municipal surveillance teams will check whether visitors to the beach are abiding by the rules. In addition to the beach, there are many other areas in The Hague where dogs may roam freely. You can find this information and more at General Info about Dogs
